Guide Rail, End Wheel and Buffer Plate

The gate runs on an 18 mm rod guide rail and is fitted with standard or heavy-duty rollers according to its weight. The end wheel keeps the leaf steady in the fully open position while the buffer plate softens sudden stops. Fixed on a concrete foundation, the system is delivered ready for motorised automation.

Detailed Description

The Sliding Gate is a panel gate system designed for wide vehicle access, sliding horizontally on a guide rail set into the ground. An 18mm rod ground rail combined with a choice of standard or heavy-duty roller delivers the most appropriate hardware for the gate's size and load.

The box-section post and leaf structure is complemented by an end wheel and buffer plate running along the ground rail. The end wheel defines the gate's fully open limit position, whilst the buffer plate absorbs sudden stops. Gate infill can be specified as Double Panel or Single Panel.

A lock-handle and motorised automation system are available as optional extras. Height can be ordered in the range 1000–2400mm and width in the range 3000–12000mm. Hot-dip galvanised powder-coated finish provides long-lasting protection against outdoor conditions.

Standard rollers suit gates of ordinary size and weight. Heavy-duty rollers are chosen for wide openings and heavier leaves, where they last considerably longer. We recommend the type according to the leaf size when you order.
On a sliding gate a ground rail is laid across the opening and the gate runs along it on wheels. A cantilever gate has no ground rail; it is carried by rollers and a cantilever arm on the drive side, supported by a buffer plate and end wheel. Where the ground is snowy, icy or paved and cannot be cut, the cantilever version is the better choice.
It closes openings up to 12000 mm. The minimum width is 3000 mm.
Yes. When the motor is specified with the order, the mechanical and electrical preparation is carried out and the gate is dispatched ready for it.
