CHAIN-LINK FENCE WEIGHT CALCULATOR (kg/m²)

Enter mesh opening (a) and wire diameter (d) to obtain the mass per square metre (kg/m²), mass per running metre (kg/m), and total tonnage of galvanised diamond-pattern chain-link fabric. Ideal for farm, land, and garden take-offs.

Inputs

mm

Diamond mesh side; typically 50 – 100 mm

mm

Galvanised wire diameter; typically 2.0 – 4.0 mm

m

Fabric height in metres; used to derive mass per running metre

m

Total run in metres; used for total tonnage

Formula

m = 17.43 × d² / a (kg/m²)

d: wire diameter (mm), a: mesh opening (mm). Steel density 7850 kg/m³. Derived from 45° diamond-mesh geometry; ±5 % variance is normal due to bending and knotting during weaving.

Standard mesh types

Most common hot-dip galvanised chain-link types produced by Konak Tel Çit. Format: mesh opening × wire diameter. Production tolerance ±5 %.

Mesh type (opening × wire, mm)Mass (kg/m²)
50 × 50 / 2.52.179
50 × 50 / 3.03.137
55 × 55 / 2.51.981
60 × 60 / 2.51.816
60 × 60 / 3.02.614
70 × 70 / 2.81.953
80 × 80 / 3.01.961
80 × 80 / 3.52.669
100 × 100 / 3.01.569

Production tolerance

Per TS EN 10223-2, tolerance on the mesh opening is ±5 % and on wire diameter ±0.06 mm. A 3 % waste allowance is typical when sizing site orders. Roll heights are typically 1.0 – 2.0 m.

Coating options

Konak Tel Çit chain-link is produced with electro-galvanised (Class A, 40–120 g/m²) or hot-dip galvanised (Class B, 200–245 g/m²) coating. Green PVC (RAL 6005) over-coating is also available for extended field life.
