ROUND TUBE WEIGHT CALCULATOR
Enter the outer diameter (D) and wall thickness (t) to get mass per metre (kg/m) and total tonnage for circular steel tubing. Ideal for sizing posts, braces, rails and handrail stock.
Inputs
Formula
m = 0.02466 × t × (D − t) (kg/m)
D: outer diameter (mm), t: wall thickness (mm). Steel density is taken as 7850 kg/m³. Cross-section area equals π × t × (D − t).

Common sizes
Most frequently used round tube profiles in panel fence, mesh and decorative applications. Production tolerance within ±5%.
| Size (mm) | Mass (kg/m) |
|---|---|
| Ø32 × 1.5 | 1.128 |
| Ø40 × 1.5 | 1.424 |
| Ø48 × 1.5 | 1.720 |
| Ø48 × 2.0 | 2.269 |
| Ø60 × 2.0 | 2.861 |
| Ø60 × 2.5 | 3.545 |
| Ø76 × 2.0 | 3.650 |
| Ø89 × 2.5 | 5.333 |
| Ø102 × 3.0 | 7.324 |
Production tolerance
Per EN 10219-2, welded round hollow sections have a wall thickness tolerance of ±10% and an outer diameter tolerance of ±1%. A 3% scrap allowance is sufficient when sizing orders.
Coating options
Konak Tel Çit tube profiles can be hot-dip galvanised (40–80 µm), electro-galvanised or epoxy powder-coated. Hot-dip zinc coating adds negligible weight to profiles below 1 mm wall thickness.
